I am shitting bricks right now. I really just want to throw up. I don’t know anything about the business world.
I am thinking of getting Pride Live Nation to ask Dan Feurriegel if he’d like to be the Spirit Day ambassador for Australia. That would be insane if he said okay! He’d also have to take a picture of himself wearing a Spirit Day t-shirt ;)
I was e-mailed the other day by a woman who works for a company called Pride Live Nation. She formerly worked at GLAAD, but created a new company that hopes to collaborate between all of the different LGBT charities/support groups. Their kick-off event is going to be a huge concert in New York called ‘Pride Live’ and they’ve invited me to come and speak about Spirit Day! So guess what!? Next October, I’m getting flown to New York with my parents! This is so exciting!
I’m not gonna lie, I feel a bit like they stole my thunder… I mean, it’s great and it’s really cool that the Mayor of Vancouver recognized it, but I don’t feel like they should get all the claim. They created the vigil, yes. But they didn’t create “Purple Shirt Day” or “Spirit Day” as I named it… What to do.
